Το Kappatos Athens Art Residency παρουσιάζει την έκθεση ένα ένα της Γαλλίδας video artist, Marie Voignier, η οποία έμεινε στην Αθήνα τον Φεβρουάριο του 2014 και πραγματοποίησε γυρίσματα για το ομώνυμο έργο που αποτελεί κεντρικό θέμα της έκθεσης.
Η δεύτερη φιλοξενούμενη του προγράμματος Kappatos Athens Art Residency, στη διάρκεια της παραμονής της δημιούργησε σε συνεργασία με τον εικαστικό Βασίλη Σαλπιστή το ένα ένα. Πρόκειται για ένα πειραματικό φιλμ-κολάζ διάρκειας δεκαπέντε λεπτών, το οποίο συνθέτουν ένα σύνολο μαρτυριών και κειμένων σχετικά με τα μεγάλα ιστορικά γεγονότα, το θάνατο, τα φαντάσματα, την κρίση και τη σχέση νερού και φωτιάς. Η συναρμογή των στοιχείων συγκλίνει σε μια διερεύνηση των σύγχρονων εφαρμογών της λειτουργίας του μύθου. Αποτελούμενες σε μεγάλο βαθμό από κινηματογραφημένες φωτογραφίες, ακόμη και εν κινήσει, οι εικόνες του φιλμ παραπέμπουν στη στατικότητα του σταθερού πλάνου. Μέσω της αντιπαραβολής τους, υπό τη μορφή ενός άτλαντα αναπαραστάσεων, ετερογενείς αλλά και κυριολεκτικές, οι εικόνες μετατοπίζουν την αφήγηση προς το χώρο του οπτικού δοκιμίου.
Παράλληλα, θα προβάλλονται οι ταινίες της Marie Voignier Un peu comme un miroir (Kind of like a mirror) και Les immobiles (Standing still). Το Un peu comme un miroir έχει γυριστεί στο ψυχιατρικό νοσοκομείο Montperrin της Aix en Provence και παρακολουθεί έναν μάγειρα, μία νοσοκόμα και έναν πρώην ασθενή. Στο Les immobiles ο μύθος του λευκού αποικιοκράτη βρίσκει την πιο καταστροφική του μορφή: το συνοδό κυνηγιού. Σε μια αμφιταλάντευση ανάμεσα στην αυθόρμητη βία και τη θρησκευτική μίμηση, ψιθυρίζει τους πιο οικονομικούς επιτονισμούς για τις εικόνες του θανάτου που αποτιμούν το παιχνίδι της βίας και του πολιτισμού. Ένα ιεροποιημένο παιχνίδι που συσκοτίζεται μέσα στην παρενδυσία της θυσίας για την εγκάρδια ένωση των ανδρών και των γυναικών σε ένα αυθαίρετο σύμφυρμα.

Kappatos Athens Art Residency presents the exhibition one by one by French video artist, Marie Voignier, who stayed in Athens in February 2014 and completed filming the homonymous film, which constitutes the central piece of the exhibition.
During her stay in Athens, the second resident of the programme Art Professionals-In-Athens Residency, created in collaboration with visual artist, Vassilis Salpistis, the film entitled one by one. Namely a fifteen minutes experimental film-collage, which is composed by a number of testimonies and texts relating to big historical events, i.e. death, phantoms, the crisis, and the relationship between water and fire. The assemblage converges the exploration of contemporary applications of the function of myth. To a great extend consisting of filmed photographs, even when in motion the images of the film suggest the stillness of a stable shot. Via juxtaposition in the form of an atlas of representations, diverge and at the same time literal, the images shift the narrative to the direction of visual essay.
At the same time, the films of Marie Voignier Un peu comme un miroir (Kind of like a mirror) και Les immobiles (Standing still) will be screened. Un peu comme un miroir has been shot in the psychiatric hospital of Montperrin in Aix en Provence and encounters a cook, a nurse, and a former patient. In Les immobiles the myth of the white colonialist finds its most destructive embodiment: the hunting guide. Hesitating in between a spontaneous violence and its religious imitations, he utters the most economical remarks about death images that assess the game of violence and culture. A sacralised game that is lost to a sacrificing vestige to unite women’s and men’s hearts in an arbitrary and violent resolution.
